Joe trained at the LCDS, performing works by Jiri Kylian, Jeremy James and Kim Brandstrup. Upon graduating in 2005, he created and toured new works by Wayne McGregor, Frederic Flamand and Angelin Preljocaj as well as guest dancing with The Forsythe Company on the production of Human Writes. He completed his MA in Dance at the Palucca Schule, Dresden before returning to London to join Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures. He performed with New Adventures as an original cast member of Dorian Gray for the 2008 and 2009 tours, for the 2010/11 tour of Cinderella, the 2012 tour of Early Adventures and as an original cast member for the 2012/13 World tour of Sleeping Beauty and original cast for The Red Shoes 2016/17. He has appeared in Arthur Pita’s award winning The Metamorphosis at The Royal Opera House, The Death of Klinghoffer directed by Tom Morris for ENO, Krol Roger for The Royal Opera and the award winning dance production of Dracula by Mark Bruce. His choreographic work has led him to become a guest artist with Cross Connection Ballet in Copenhagen and a founding member of New Movement Collective. He is also a consultant tutor at The Architectural Association, School of Architecture for their graduate course in Spatial Performance Design and continues his own business as a graphic designer.
