Kristina Arakelyan

Composer and pianist Kristina Arakelyan, born in 1994, studied composition and piano at the Purcell School of Music and composition in the Royal Academy of Music, generously supported by the Raffy Manoukian trust. Kristina has won several awards most notably First Prize in the NCEM Composer award (2016), OOTS Shakespeare 400+ Composition Competition (2014), First Prize in the BBC Proms Young Composer Award (2010), Overall Cup Winner in the EPTA Composition Competition (2009), Purcell School Wigmore Hall and David Cox Prizes (2011/2012). Kristina’s music has been heard on BBC Radio 3 on a few occasions as well as in London’s Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, St Martin-in-the- Fields and the Southbank Centre.
