Leanne Steel
Trained in many dance genres from a young age but became passionate about contemporary dance during a Foundation year at London Studio Centre. Recently graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in Dance Performance. Cohan and Graham classes have been Leanne’s strength and passion, hence why she was drawn to this opportunity. Whilst studying at Middlesex she was assessed in Repertoire pieces including Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker and Robert Cohan’s Stabat Mater.Throughout her final year, Leanne rehearsed Robert Cohan’s Tzaikerk under the direction of both Anne Donnelly and Cohan himself. Tzaikerk was performed at ArtsDepot in May as part of a performance module for the final year students. Having predominantly performed repertoire pieces, Leanne is intrigued to experience how the Cohan technique can be utilised in a modern day setting with current choreographers, musicians and professional dancers.
